using consumer reports?

If any of you are using consumer reports, how are you accessing articles? Did you buy a subscription?

My local library has an online subscription to it but doesn't seem to come up with as much info as I would expect so I think I am missing something.

How are you getting reviews about your possible baby stuff?

I go on the Nurseries and Baby Gear board for lots of mama's reviews...they've really helped out with choosing my stroller (Baby Jogger City Mini), car seat, and crib(Ikea Gulliver) (I'm sure other items, too, but those are the big ones that I could think of). My friends has an online subscription to Consumer's Reports and we used that to confirm my choice of infant car seat (Chicco Key Fit 30).

I also have some friends that have had babies recently, so they've given me tons of advice on what to register for and what to forget about.

I have a subscription to Consumer Reports. I haven't used it much for baby stuff, but I'm not sure if they review too much of it. What I did find useful was a buying guide for a crib mattress; perhaps they have more guides like that? It just tells you the qualities to look for in terms of safety and long-term quality. I think Consumer Reports also has a baby gear book, but again, I don't think it really reviews too many items (from my quick glance through it), but it does provide tips on what to look for when picking out items.
