Cloth Diapering

please help a CD newbie!

My son is almost 9 months and 24 lbs... not a big chunk really, but he's 32 inches already so he's the size of a 12-15 month old easily.  We used disposables with my daughter and are ready to make the switch to cloth!

After researching online and talking to a couple of friends, I think we're going to go with BumGenius 4.0s.  My question to you, seasoned CD ladies, is... do they really last until potty training and "35+" pounds?  What is everyone's experience?  I don't want him to outgrow them in a year... his growth has slowed down but he'll always be a bigger boy so I would love to hear from you all!

  • DS has consistently been way off the charts from the beginning.  He is now 33 lb 3 oz and 35" tall and they still fit him.  At this point he is slimming out a bit because he is running everywhere, so I think they will actually last us.  Other brands that have worked well for our huge DS are snap HH and Snap Oh Katys.  Do yourself a favor and never even look at RaR :P
  • Thank you!!!  He is about the size of my 2.5 year old daughter so that's a great comparison for me (she is 33 lbs and 36 inches).

  • My daughter is 2 1/2- weighs 35 lbs and is 36 inches tall. She wears BGs at bedtime and they work great. She has big thighs and we still have a bit of growing room.
