okay is something wrong with me?

We went to DH's aunts house tonight for her sons birthday dinner. Her son has a baby around 3 months, he isn't together with the mother so he keeps her at his moms when he has her. Anyway, for some reason I didn't even have the urge to pick her up and hold her!! Everyone was passing her around and I just wasn't that interested, DH said it will be so different with its my own and I sure hope so! I'm so excited for my LO and I guess I thought I would want to walk in and scoop that baby up considering I'm having one of my own soon!

Nope, totally normal!

I don't like other peoples kids and I have no desire to hold anyone elses baby -- not even my very best friends!

I don't have any nieces/nephews yet, so that might be different, but as of now I only like my own babies!

I usually can't wait to get my hands on a nearby baby but lately I haven't really felt up to it. I wouldn't say something is wrong with you - especially if you don't really know YH's cousin or his baby. Plus I know I've felt awkward in the past about interacting with a baby with MH's family watching. Silly, I know, but I worry about them judging what I do. With my own baby, I know I won't care about them as much. Like I said, it's silly, but it's the truth.

I did that before when I was dating DH. I'm a teacher and I like kids, but didn't want to hear the comments. And you would have gotten Ahh that's going to be you soon, ect. ect. ect.

Yes I def. wasn't in the mood for the comments..I only slept 3 hours last night so I guess i'm more irritable than usual.

I've tried to be interested in other people's children since getting pregnant, but I'm just not, I never have been though and doubt other than my own that I ever will be : )

I never cared for others babies and I cannot wait to hold mine. It will be very different.

Two of my good friends just had babies.  When I went to visit them, they both offered and I declined both times.  There is just something about having this belly and holding a sqirmy little one that just is not appealing to me.  I cannot wait though, to hold my own little one!
