HORRIBLE OBGYN - DR. SISSI SELINGER!!!!

I want to warn everyone about a doctor in Murrieta. Her name is Dr. Selinger. I had my first appointment with her on Tuesday, April 12. I was 8 weeks and when she did the internal ultrasound she said that the baby was measuring 6 1/2 weeks and there was no heartbeat. As you can expect I was devastated however I asked her if we could do some additional testing and she said yes. I did blood work on that day and then Thursday and an ultrasound on Saturday. She did not put stat on any of the tests so I was told that I had to wait 2-3 business days for the results for each test results. I called her office yesterday looking for the blood test results and I was informed that she was on vacation all week, had no doctor backing her up and no one in the office could provide me with my results. She also never told me that she was going on vacation!!!! I asked if they could page her and I was told no and that they could only send her messages that she would get when she booted up her computer however they had no idea when that was going to happen. I called the office several times yesterday to see if she had possibly updated the them and they had not heard from her. They did though confirm that she had all of the results now. This was so frustrating cuz all she had to do was take 10 minutes to review them and give me a call but last night I heard nothing from her. This morning I got a phone call and it was someone in her office saying that they were calling to schedule my D&C. I just about fell off my chair!!!! I could not believe that this was how I was going to get confirmation that I was indeed miscarrying! I asked the office girl if the doctor had reviewed the test results and she said she did not know and that she just requested her to schedule the D&C. The worst part about it is that when I asked when the D&C could be scheduled she said a week from this coming Friday (4-29). Really... I have to wait 3 weeks to get a D&C!!! Totally unacceptable!!! I am still in shock that this is how the news was delivered to me however I am still skeptical about having a D&C. I have no signs of miscarriage and I can't confirm that my hormones are decreasing. The doctor still had not communicated with me about the test results. I also asked to speak to the office manager and was told that her office manager is her husband so obviously that is not going to help! My warning to everyone is to STAY AWAY FROM DR. SISSI SELINGER (also the other two doctor's in the Rancho OBGYN practice - Dr. Bielman and Dr. Kaplan). They all have the same policy I am told that unless you are in your close to delivery there is no back up doctor when they are on vacation. This is not patient care!!! She has made a heartbreaking situation much worse by not being a responsible doctor, not to mention that she does not care about her patients!!!

Just please, please stay away from this office!!!! They don't treat thier patients with care!!!

Oh wow I am so sorry for what you have been going through... I wish you luck... I hope that everything is ok with your LO and I hope you get a better doctor...

That sounds beyond horrible! I am so sorry. I hope it's noit really a loss. Can you go to urgent care or something perhaps?

So sorry to hear this. Selinger delivered both of my kids (my doctor is Kaplan). I never had any problems with them. They dont have any overly enjoyable bed side manner to them - DR Kaplan is ALL BUSINESS. But the three of them are each others back up when one is out. He doesnt communicate well. Everytime I asked a pregnancy related question - he answered me like it was an idiotic question.
I can say that they are HORRIBLE about returning calls. EVERYTIME i have left a message for the DR or his nurse...they have never once called me back.
At this point I am done having kids. But I wouldnt go back there for future kids.

I'm so sorry about your experience...did you ever confirm it was a miscarriage ?

I had a bad experience also, she said my baby would have birth defects...I did not abort and she came out fine. I'm glad I listened to my heart.

Oh wow this gave me the chills, thank god for mommy instinct!!  I can't imagine having to deal with such an awful group of doctors. 

I've had nothing but good experiences with Temecula Valley OB/GYN in Murrieta.  I dealt with all but one of the doctors during my pregnancy and they are all great, but Dr. Davood is definitely my favorite.  She was so great during my pregnancy, after I delivered (she was on vacation when I gave birth), and she was so wonderful when I got hit with bad PPD earlier this year.
