Delivery at OU Medical Center

Hey everyone! Just a quick question for you guys. We will be delivering at OU Med Center in OKC for our next baby (not pregnant yet) because of vbac and just wondering if anyone has delivered there or know anyone that has delivered there & your/their experience. We don't know of anyone and just interested to find out more info. Thank you!

I don't have too much insight, but I too will be using OU (midwives) so I can let you know how everything goes in a few months.

I have my own reasons for never wanting to go to OU. But, in fairness, I have had many friends who delivered there who said they had a great experience. 

I just happen to be one of those people who has seen more bad than good (not necessarily in the labor and delivery part, though). I heard their midwives are really good, too.

I know some that think they HAVE to deliver there because they are medicaid or high-risk. But that's not the case either. My sis was told she had to go there when they found she was having twins...since it's higher risk.

She went to a doctor that delivered out of Integris Southwest instead with no problems.  I do believe if you do some looking around, you can find docs that deliver other places for VBAC. Not as many. But just so you know it's not your ONLY choice.

I'm having a VBAC as well and I chose to go to OU and see a midwife. I've been happy with them so far and I know several women who have given birth there (with midwives and doctors) and they've been happy as well. They definitely seem to be the most "naturally" minded when it comes to health and birth. They currently have the lowest c/s rate of any other hospital in OKC. (Mercy has the highest, BTW)
