Aloha! My name is Nohea and I'm helping to plan a shower for my sister-in-law (DH's sister)! <--As you can tell I'm extremely excited!! I'm living vicariously through her for the moment. Well, she's having a girl & she loves purple, so that's the only "theme" we have going on right now.
My ideas so far:
Red velvet cake pops (w/purple icing)
Red velvet cup cakes
Motorcycle diaper cake (decorations)
Wash cloth lollipops (decorations)
But that's all I've got and the decorations are really gifts for my sis-in-law. Any ideas/tips would be greatly appreciated. Mahalo!
Re: Baby Shower ideas needed!
Not an idea for decorations, but I recently had a shower for my best friend, and I bought a bunch of scrapbooking supplies to make pages for all the major events in the first year of the baby's life (first bath, all the holidays, beach trips, zoo, baptism, etc) and each person at the shower made a page or 2 to put a scrapbook together. Now all she has to do is add the pictures in as she takes them.
Everyone had a blast making them, and the book came out great! I think I got all the stuff to make it for around $70. Joann fabric always has sales on scrapbooking stuff, so just keep an eye out for the sale days and you'll be able to get the supplied without breaking the bank.
Aloha Nohea,
If you are looking for a place that has lots of theme ideas, check out this site which has over 60 baby shower themes - including a bunch that are for themes specific for girls. If its on the market, these guys have it.
The trend from all the Party Supply manufacturers right now is Hot Pink (aka Bright Pink) for girls decorations. There are a couple themes that really don't celebrate the little girl, but rather the mom that have Purple accents or highlight. "Parenthood", and "Baby Me" are the two that have the most purple to use for a theme.
We were given a coupon code to use with them: happycustomer
Good luck!
