WDYT of Dex?

Maybe its the pregnancy hormones, but I'm really liking the NN Dex as a full name. I am not interested in you telling me that you prefer Dexter, I want to know if Dex could be a stand alone name and if you like it?

No need to get flipped out by it, DH and I already are 99% sure with other boy names

I love it! I love any form of Dexter, even if it is Dex. There is an actor named Dax Sheppard and I like his name. If you have a long last name I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I think it's awesome,but probably more of a nn unfortunately. Per pp, the serial killer is part of the appeal for me lol ;-)

My husband is obsessed with the show Dexter and teases me about naming the baby Dexter and calling him Dex.  I do like it, but for us I think it would be weird to name the baby Dexter because we love a show a about a serial killer!  Ultimately I convinced him that Dex was too close to Alex our first son's name

It's not bad, but it does sound more like a nn to me too. I'm planning on that being my son's nn. But, depending on what mn you want to use, and what your last name sounds like, it might not sound bad when it's all together like that.

I'm not a big fan of it, but that could be due to one of my best friends having a miniature yorkie named Dex. We named him after the phone book.

Dex is one of the only boy names on which my DH and I agree!  Very cool name )
