Graco Pack N Play Assembly

Anyone have problems getting the metal rods to fit into the plastic inserts for the bassinet portion? I feel like they are slightly too long and can't get both sides in.  Any hints or tricks appreciated!

I finally got it in with all of my strength!  Unfortunately after all of my hard work on the assembly the electronic don't work.  I unscrewed both pieces where batteries go to make sure they were in correctly (they're brand new batteries).  Grrrr...I got it on clearance at Target awhile ago and probably missed the 90 day return.

Call Graco and they will send you a replacement, free of charge. They will ask for the model and serial number of the playpen though so be prepared.
