I don't know if this is a pre-partum thing; a hormonal thing or what...
In the past 2 weeks I...
-found out my OB practice added a new doctor that is on call most of the week I am due and this gave me great aniexty
-started to vomit and feel overall nausea all the time...went to OB and she told me this is due to hormones preparing for labor...ok
-sickness carried into week two. no more vomiting but nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, no desire to eat - everything smells bad.
I feel awful. I am scared I will have no strength as I do today to have a good delivery. I am tired of feeling sick. I want to feel excited that baby is to arrive any day.
I have been HAPPY and upbeat my whole pregnancy until now. I feel depressed. I think it has to do with feeling so ill for over a week now but I don't know. Anyone else have a similar experience?
Re: Depressed the week I am due...
I think it's very normal to be nervous before delivery. Not only are you anticipating labor, but you are also anticipating a new baby. You have been carrying this baby for 9 months, and it's a lot of change going on at once.
Would it be possible for you to make an appointment with the new doctor in the practice to get to know him/her, just as sort of a meet and greet to ease your mind a bit? Also, try to rest as much as you can. Don't over extend yourself. Hopefully your body will respond as it needs to during your labor.
GL to you for a smooth labor and a healthy LO who will soon be in your arms.
