I literally just got off the phone with the nurse and at this point, google is only discouraging me.
I started taking progesterone over the weekend, and I'm supposed to see the doctor again 23 days after I begin my cycle for additional lab work.
I had zero problems conceiving Cassie so this is all so surprising to me. Anyone care to share their experience with me?
Thanks!
Re: PCOS....what should I expect?
I don't have any ideas but my friend has PCOS and with fertility meds she now has a healthy happy 1 yr old.
side note: the "pig-braids" are adorable!!
Thank you so much for chiming in and sharing the story about your friend, I'm trying my best to stay positive here
I was diagnosed with PCOS but had none of the symptoms as I had regular periods. They only found it because they did internal ultrasound. My doctor did some bloodwork and said that everything was normal. I decided to do accupunture 3 times a month to regulate my hormones (low progeterone) and conceived our daughter 3 months later.
My advice to you is don't read the internet as it will only discourage you. Have you done bloodwork? Stay positive!!
I had bloodwork done last week, but my doctor wants me to go back on the 23rd day after I start my period (which I haven't had since November) for additional lab work. I was actually speaking to the nurse over the phone and for some reason didn't have enough snap to ask what for exactly. I think my brain was busy trying to digest everything she was saying over the phone....
Thanks for sharing your story as well
Hey cecig,
I have PCOS, and am currently pregnant with twins thanks to fertility treatments. The doctor probably wants you to have more lab work to make sure the progesterone is doing what it is supposed to be doing. I had a bunch of lab work done before they started my treatments and it was always to check what my hormone levels were (mine were all over the place....never had a 28-day cycle in my life). Don't read too much online about PCOS...it's still relatively unheard of (my regular OB wasn't even too sure what it was until I explained it to her). A lot of what you see online is either worst case scenario, or completely made up.
Don't be afraid to ask questions....write them down so you remember to ask them next time you have your MD or nurse on the phone. It's a lot of testing and waiting, testing and waiting. Keep your chin up....I'm sure that it'll work for you! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to let me know! I'm an open book!
Amanda
In my early 20's, my doctor suggested that I likely had PCOS. Over the years other doctors have said the same thoughts. Nothing diagnosed because I have regular periods but I do have many of the other issues.
