New problem, Still sleeping!

Oy! I have to drop the baby off at 7:30 and she's still asleep at 7. I never thought I'd have this problem. Not that she slept through the night... this happened yesterday too.

Re: New problem, Still sleeping!

  • Be careful what you wish for, right? lol

H wakes up around 4-5 every morning...we get him back to sleep, only to have to wake him up to get ready for daycare drop off at 7:30.

DH is off with him today because of school being closed for the holiday this week and I just got a text that he woke up on his own at 7:45. Man, I wish I were home asleep until 7:45 too, haha. ;)

Hey, just think...as soon as you figure this one out, she'll have something new up her sleeve for you! =D

  • I am sorry, I can't sympathize. My little guy was up at 4:30 the last four mornings and not STTN either. I am sure having to wake her sucks, just not a problem we ever deal with.

  • Hee hee, what a problem ;) She's hitting the teenage years already!
  • I often think that I am going to hate the day that we have to be out of the house in the morning. While Andrew normally wakes between 6-6:30 we have phases where he sleeps until 7-7:30 and those rare days that he sleeps until 8 or 8:30.  I enjoy the chance to sleep in way to much to not be crushed at the thought of having to wake him up.  Although I do find it amusing when DH has to call his boss and say "sorry I haven't even left the house yet, my kid oversleptBig Smile".
  • This was the final straw for me in a string of crappy sleep.  Last summer DS started going to sleep late (like 9:30 late). He was in bed at his usual time but could not fall asleep.  And of course that led to a real need to sleep in to get enough rest.  Sleeping late led to a late nap, and a late bedtime. Ugh.  I cried many a time about it as it was driving me crazy!

We had some success with two things: less or no napping (which usually leads to an earlier bedtime and early wake up the next day) or a lot more physical activity which does the same.

If she's already in bed at night for 12 hours, I'm not sure which thing would work better.

So is this old board mentality (the thing that everyone misses where people just speak their minds in every post) or new board mentality (where you follow up with a "don't flame me bro" comment)? Or is it the third "OMG I AM SO TIRED GIVE MY KID SOME OF THAT MAD SLEEPING SKILL" category? :)

  • Oh dear, lest I made it sound as if I get any sleep, she wakes up now twice at night, wants milk, which I am watering down to try to get her off of it at night, which causes her to soak through her diaper, needs a whole out fit/diaper change, cries when I leave the room,  I think I get about 4 hours of total sleep per night. I think this is due to separation anxiety from starting daycare, and I hope it improves soon. Really, really soon. Oh and I still get up early to get ready before she wakes up. So, the sleeping until 7 is probably due to exhaustion because she is up so much at night crying and whining.
