I've never heard this one IRL, only on this board. Is it like May with a 'v'? Or is the v silent? I always want to say it as mauve, like the color.

IMO it's like Mayva (or Mae-vuh). My friend's mom is a Maeve and that's how she's pronounced it. It's Irish. Though I think the author Maeve Binchy is just Mayv (no uh). This site says it's Mayv. https://babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com/meaning_of_Maeve.html
