If you've used clomid...

How many times did you cycle with it?  I've always heard three is generally the time to stop.  I have a history of ovarian cancer so it freaks me out as it is.  I used clomid for my first/only ER in January of this year, took it again in March for an IUI that was cancelled, and once I get rid of the cyst I have, I'm going to cycle with it again (different cycle days, smaller dose) for another IUI in (hopefully) May.  Since Jan 11 I have new insurance that covers IUIs after my deductible is met....which is why we're even doing them.  I figured what the hell.  But I'm kind of caught up with how many we can/should/will do if we get BFNs.....I mean I guess we could do as many as we want without drugs, but who knows.  At some point we'd have to move on, right?  So how many times did you cycle with clomid?

I cycled with Clomid last month days 5-9 100mg...I am not doing it again, because my lining was a 4 on it ... It is common for it to thin lining. So then this month I have 4 cysts all over 1 cm on my right ovary...so, I am not doing it next cycle. I had to sit out this one because of the cysts. It is frustrating...but each time the re learns more and more about how your body responds...Good Luck, and the accupuncture post was good!

we did 3 back-to-back cycles on it earlier in the year, starting small, then doubling it for the other 2 cycles, i had no response to it.

I did 4 cycles with Clomid & IUIs right in a row back in 2009, 2 cycles with 50mg and 2 cycles with 100mg, I responded all 4 times...but none of the IUIs worked.  I hate the s/e from Clomid.

I used Clomid for 2 cycles.  I also was told that if it's going to work, it usually works in 3 tries.  We moved on after two, because the 1st time I did ovulate (but just didn't get pg) but the 2nd time I did not even ovulate.  We were encouraged to choose a more aggressive approach by my fertility dr because of my age (40).  We decided to go straight to IVF & it worked the first time.  I don't have any experience with IUI's but I know that many people try those before doing IVF, because it's less invasive.

I had 3 cycles of clomid.
