Cincinnati Babies

Hello Second Trimester :)

I have made it to the second trimester! It has been a very long 14 weeks, but I am still pregnant and that's all I could ask for.  So far things are going very well.  I am having some pretty bad hip and lower back pain, but I am not going to complain.  The baby sounds great too :)

I go in for an ultrasound on Wednesday to check the fluid status.  This will give us an idea of whether this baby has anything like what Max has/had.  I will also have a level II ultrasound at 18 weeks to do a full anatomy scan, etc.

Saying prayers that all looks good on Wednesday.  I will keep you all posted.

Beth

  • I know it's early but you may consider one of those maternity support belts. I had a lot of back and hip pain in the third tri with Owen and it helped a lot.

  • YAY for the second trimester!!  I had similar pain that you are describing in my second tri with DS and with most of my pregnancy with DD.  I actually wore a SI (sacroiliac) belt.  You have a joint between your sacrum and your pelvis bone.  As this joint starts to slip it can cause the pain the you are describing.  The belt helps hold the joint in place.  A maternity band (not a Beband but an actual support band) would probably do the same thing.  Ask your OB about it first.  It didn't take my pain completely away, but it helped significantly!
