Illinois Babies

Best Hospitals

I currently live in the south suburbs but will be moving to Chicago proper (Lincoln Square) within the next couple of months. Does anyone have any recommendations as to the best hospitals to give birth in? I am pretty lost so any insight would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Re: Best Hospitals

  • I live in Lincoln Square and delivered at Prentice. My experience was fantastic.  My OB is Michelle Hakimian at Progressive Care for Women.

  • Though I have yet to deliver, I heard many good things about Prentice (Northwestern Memorial) from family and friends which is why my husband and I chose Prentice over other area hospitals.

If you want, you can always tour Prentice prior to making your decision...

  • I also live in Lincoln Square and plan to deliver at Prentice. My OB is with the Women's Group at Northwestern.
  • I'm in Lincoln Square as well.  Lots of us in this little neighborhood!  I go to Swedish Covenant and have been really happy so far.  I had one loss with my last pregnancy and they handled everything as well as possible.

  • I am in Lincoln Square and delivered at Swedish.  I see Dr. Brennan and the office there is fantastic.  Labor and delivery went well and I was very comfortable and happy.  We also see Dr. Maxouris as DS's doctor and we love her.
