Holy he!! - engagement ring through the blender

In an attempt to be healthy, I decided I would try those green smoothies everyone has talked about. After I put the spinach in, I heard this horrible grinding sound, which I brushed off as being the frozen fruit - WRONG!  After I poured out the smoothie, I saw my band at the bottom of the blender completely destroyed with no diamonds.  I poured out both smoothies onto paper towels to sift through.  Eventually, I found all 3 diamonds at the bottom of the blender in the leftovers, completely intact without a scratch.

 

Wish me luck when I tell DH tonight.  At least I found the diamonds...

What?! That is insane-- is your ring incredibly loose? Looks like a good excuse to go get it re-sized! Glad you were able to find everything!

I gotta say, I about died when I read this! I can't imagine how your heart lurched into your throat upon seeing the band in the blender! Yikes! Hope it all works out!

It was really lose.  I lost all my pregnancy weight really fast and some more thanks to BF-ing.  It must have come off when I was taking the spinach out of the bag and putting it into the blender.  Getting re-sized was on my list of things to do.  Guess it got moved to the top of the list.

All of your descriptions have been spot on - my heart broke, fell into my stomach, then I started to cry as I was searching through the smoothie trying to find the separate pieces of my ring.  It was insured (thank god), but I need to see how much the jeweler will charge to set it in a new band to see if it's more or less than our deductible.  I already told DH and his response was "If you don't want to be married to me anymore, all you had to do was say something.  You didn't have to throw your jewelry in the blender."    He was totally nice with it and told me to just take it to the jeweler to be fixed.  And that when he loses his wedding ring at some point, he has a "get out of jail free" card.  I am so lucky to be married to such a great man.

Thanks to all you for reading my post and responding.  I was SO upset this afternoon and knew all of you would understand where I was coming from.

Holy crap! I would have keeled over at that sight.  I am glad you found all of your stones.  Go pick out a fabulous new setting and get it sized to your finger asap!  I can't imagine how horrible you felt at the realization of what happened.  Green smoothies are way overrated.  Take a pic an post it when you get your ring redone.  Hugs!
