Where to buy skirts?

For some reason I'm getting sick of all of my capris already, and I'm not a fan of regular or bermurda style shorts. I would like to go out and get some nice skirts I can wear around, but I haven't had much luck finding any! Are skirts not "in" this summer or something? I've only been to Ross and Target, but they basically had nothing.

Any ideas? I want to go out this afternoon but don't want to waste my time dragging the kids into a store that isn't going to have anything.

I'm so glad you're asking this!  I am very interested in what people have to say because I am having the same issue.  My usual go-to places for skirts are Target, ON or Gap but I have not seen any this year (in maternity or regular).  I LOATHE shorts and pants b/c nothing fits me right.  I am a skirt girl all the way.  I need skirts.  Where are they??  This  year I haven't even found any "comfy" skirts with the roll down waist.  Sigh.

I've found a couple promising leads on the jcpenney website! Hopefully they carry them in store though. I just hate making a special trip and then not finding what I want!

Yes I actually have one of those. I loved them when I was pregnant...now that I'm not pregnant but still kind of look like it they are not so great for me, lol! 

I tell you what though, the second I get a bfp I'm going to be living in those again. I'll totally claim I'm "showing" at 6w.

i will be a friend, and tell you my honest opinion: i think these skirts are great for pregnant girls. BUT i think they make non-pregnant girls look pregnant. there. i said it. i'm all for comfort, but i hate the thought that people might think i'm pregnant when i am not.

I have this skirt in white and I love it. It's so comfortable and looks super cute with a tank and denim jacket.

Seriously, try on that first on I posted.  I thought it looked too short on the hanger but it sits low.

Okay I'll give it a try...that and at least two more look like they could work.

Ugh. I am in the same boat. I love skirts but there have been so few cute ones in the last few years that I've had to venture to the dark side and buy some shorts just so I don't die of heat exhaustion in the summer. I feel like shorts of all lengths have just been really popular the last few springs / summers. 

That said, the places I usually have had luck in the past are Gap, Ann Taylor / Loft, Old Navy, Banana Republic, and Steinmart. I haven't been shopping in a while, but I was at Gap not too long ago and the only skirts were solid colors. I prefer prints on skirts; otherwise, I just go for black or denim.

Ditto. This style is not my friend. I just need the fabric to be a little more structured. The other problem is that I hate wearing thongs and feel like I have VPL every time I wear this kind of material.

Have you tried looking online at Athleta?  They are a bit on the expensive side (for me anyway, for chasing kids around) but their stuff really seems to be made well and fits well.  I bought two swimsuits from them and two pairs of shorts for a vacation last fall, and they were awesome.

I love that this thread, of all threads, got over 20 responses! Definitely going to be coming here with all fashion questions from now on.

Since I'm sure you'll all dying for an update, my trip to ON was successful and I bought this . They only had the white in store, but I might get another color online since it's very comfy and the perfect length for me.

I also stopped in Dress Barn. LOL. It wasn't as "old lady" as I imagined it would be
