Outdoor toys?

I know some of our LO's (including mine) may be too young for real play outside this summer, but do you plan on getting any outdoor toys? If so, can you link or PIP? I'm trying toget ideas for gifts. TIA!

Shopping again, are we?  :)   I'm going to ignore the link and PIP part of your question because I suck at doing those, but I keep scouting Craigslist for a little turtle sandbox and inflatable infant pool (which I will probably just buy firsthand).  Noelle loves splashing in the tub and I think a little pool will be a riot for her.

Of course I'm shopping!! :) Actually we have an ongoing amazon wishlist for Ryan so that the grandparents/aunts/uncles can get him stuff we actually want or need (instead of 5 sets of baby keys!)

I want to get him a little pool but DH doesn't want a sandbox :(

  • I was going to say a pool as well.

Such as this. If you just google baby pool there are a ton of options. If you fill it with your hose, do it in the morning and let it sit in the sun for a few hours to warm up (probably common sense but I just figured I would share my experience.

Oh - LOVE that one with the cover. Thanks for linking.

JKat - why doesn't DH want a sandbox?  Too dirty?  That is my concern...

I mentioned a sandbox and both DH and BIL instantly said "spiders" so apparently sand boxes get spiders?

Not that you asked for my opinion but it might be best to wait a bit for a sandbox b/c at this age they put everything in their mouths. When they are 18 months or so they can understand not to do that. It would freak me out too much to have a sandbox for an infant but that's just me.

  • I want a sand box for next year.

For this year we got a Little Tikes baby swing (Also available in pink). Not sure if we'll be getting any other big items. Maybe a little pool.

  • I might get this

    Baby pool

I think it looks like fun.

  • I think this year we're just going to take her to our community pool (they have a small wading pool for babies only) and bring her pack n play outside and let her play with toys in there.
