My grandma's name is Ida and my husband's late grandma's name is Ada. I love Ayla/Isla. Any thoughts on how we can incorporate this into a daughter's middle name? (We love Natalie, Sienna, Ayla for first names)
Plus, I just have to share, my husband and I told his father we're using his name, David, for our first son's middle name last night on his 60th bday. He cried! So special.
Re: Ida/Ada/Isla/Ayla
Natalie Isla Rose is pretty. I like Isla only, no other spellings.
Other suggestions::
Juliet Isla
Nadine Isla
Josephine Isla
Savannah Isla
Genevieve Isla
I pronounce Ayla and Isla completely differently. From your post, it seems like perhaps you are pronouncing them the same?
There's also Aida as a potential first name, spelled with an umlaut over the i so that it's pronounced Ah-ee-da (although I'm not positive this is how it's pronounced in English). That would incorporate both grandmother's names.
I pronounce Ayla and Isla differently too. Ayla is like Kayla without the K, Isla is like island.
Great idea with the Aida spelling - I'm really liking that, thank you.
