I like Beckett and I love James, but I personally would stay away from the initials BJ, but I am weird about initials.  If that does not bother you I think it is a great name!

I love it!  DH veto'd Beckett, I do like James as a MN and think they sound good together, but like others said only if BJ doesn't bother you.

NMS and his initals would be BJ, I know kids aren't as mean as they used to be, but when that child gets older, you know his buddies are going to make that association.  Just sayin'.
