Trouble TTC

chiropractor ?

I hear a lot of ladies talk about accupuncture and was wondering if chiropractic allignment has any fertility benefits.  I went to a chiropractor when I was in high school and college but since I got married and moved I haven't.  I have been looking for a chiropractor in my area and was curious if I should mention that I am TTC.

Re: chiropractor ?

  • It wouldn't hurt to mention you are TTC but I don't know that it would help.

I have been seeing a chiro for 15 years (for back pain) and did mention to him that we were TTC.  He said he would make sure I am fully in alignment and that could help but that being said I am not pregnant yet (1-1/2 years later).

    Good Luck.

  • My husband is a chiropractor and his boss raves about his ability to "get women pregnant by correcting misalignments in their pelvis".. Honestly, when he first told me this, I was dubious, because he also told me the best way to conceive was to have sex EOD starting the day after your period ends. That said, I do think there can be some serious merits to the practice. You just have to make sure you get with the right dr who doesn't over-promise.

  • I'm a chiropractor, and to be honest, I'm not sure than an adjustment has the ability to help fertility...however, it wouldn't hurt to adjust and stimulate the joints whose spinal nerves innervate the uterus and pelvis.

I've heard a lot of good things about accupuncture too, and some chiro's practice accupuncture in their office, so maybe a combination would be helpful...
