34 weeks, 2 days - 1cm dilated, 70% effaced

Okay, so I was thinking BEFORE my 34 week appt today that baby may come early, I've been on Procardia to stop contractions since 24 weeks (had PTL, and still have short cervix issues) - we stop that in 12 days.  BUT - after finding out she's already settled head down, and I'm 1cm dilated and 70% effaced -  I don't know how much longer this little girl is going to stay put!!  I'd really like to make it to 36 weeks - but I forgot to take my pill twice and have had crazy contractions both times (I took it as soon as I remembered!) - so I REALLY think in 12 days at exactly 36 weeks, baby Claire will enter this world when I stop my procardia, if not sooner!  Ack! I am SOOO not ready (we have everything we NEED, but I'm not mentally ready to have a baby, lol)!! Good thing we got maternity pictures and my work shower done yesterday/today, and tomorrow is my big family baby shower!!  I'm not ready to have her, yet!

Hope that it happens when you're both ready!

I was in the same situation with my first and by the time I came off procardia I was 4cm. I ended up delivering at 40 weeks! You just never know

Good luck!  You never know, I've heard all kinds of stories about women walking around effaced and a few cm dilated for several weeks before giving birth.

We are the same!  I found out at 34w2d that I was also 1 cm dilated.  My cervix has been an issue this entire pregnancy and this week it was 1.8 cm.  The just put me on Procardia for the next 10 days to get me to 36 weeks.  Then the little man can come!  I lost my mucus plug last night and it has been continuing to come out today.  AND...I get to be a bridesmaid tomorrow.  Yup!  Hoping I don't go into labor!
