I mean really. DH and I have already decided on names, but I keep coming back to this board for the name horrors. I cannot believe what I read. Surely there can't be that many people who butcher names in such an uneducated manor. Yall must be just trying to invent things...
lol, really though I'd like to state a few things:
1) It doesn't matter how a person changes the spelling, Jaxon will still be pronounced Jackson, so you haven't changed your child's name at all.
2) I think some unisex names are cute but there are some lines that make me cringe. Such as the Tyler thread I read earlier. Everyone I've ever met named Tyler was a boy, and I've lived a lot of places. It doesn't even sound girly. Dani, Charli, Jami, they all work. But Kyle and Tyler should be left to the boys.
ETA: I know that you're not joking, it's just so silly it's hard to believe at time.
That said, no amount of disagreeing with me will change my mind, however I promise not to grumble with those that do disagree, you may feel differently.
And FTR I have 2 scary names I'd like to add.
1) I went to hs with Amanda Lay, no joke. In case you don't get it, long before I ever met her I heard the joke about needing A Man To Lay. Sad.
2)Fortunatly my HS BFF had a daughter, her DH wanted a boy named Aniken (after Aniken Sywalker from Star Wars)
Re: You all must be joking...
Nope, we're not joking. All of our kids are named Jaqsyn. All of them.
For reals.
Joy for the WIN!
I actually have know 3 women named Kyle in my life (all in their 30's now), living in different states. Never would've thought about it as a name for a girl, but after knowing each of them it's not so unusual to me. (I have also gone to school with girls named Justin, Dustin, and Ian, no relation).
Joy, I love you.

*Thanks for this
My name is Kyle (and I'm 29). Most people say that they think it is cool.
I have a female cousin named Kyle. She's a beautiful woman of 42. So, I'm pretty sure this name can go either way.
Wow, this was a really negative post. I teach 8th graders, and I have had a girl Tyler and a girl Kyle. I loved these names for both, and they were perfectly suited to each student.
Also, what is so wrong with having a unique spelling? I am Stefany, and I like that I don't have the usual spelling.
