My baby has bad colic. does the alimentum really work for tummy issues. he was on gentlease but was not working for him. what is your experience with alimentum?
If your baby has "colic" then alimentum wont help. If your baby has a milk/soy protein intolerance, then it could really help. E was diagnosed with MSPI and reflux at 3 weeks and alimentum has worked wonders. I would talk to your pedi and see what they think.

My son started out on Similac advanced. He had a hard time digesting it and going to the bathroom. I started him on the alimentum on my own and with in 24hours I saw a difference. He's is now 3 months old and doing great on it! Although it is pricey I highly recommed it!
A lot of peds think that "colic" is just undiagnosed gastric reflux. So try the alimentum and see. It helped our DS, and she has very severe reflux. It helps with the burning and it also helps with less spitting up. The downsides are that it is WAY expensive, and it is also kind of smelly.
Alimentum could help if your LO has a milk and/or soy protein intolerance. It really does smell exactly like my cats dry food and I tasted it for the first time the other day and it is beyond gross. With that being said LO went from a baby that cried 24/7 to a happy baby once we switched to Alimentum and the dairy/soy was out of my breast milk. Yesterday someone posted a codes for the Abbott website. I got a 48 pack of 2oz RTF Alimentum bottles for $16.99 with free shipping. The codes were LUTEIN and SIMILAC3 not sure if they still work or not.

Kind of? It makes me literally gag! It smells like stale oyster crackers. And the burps my kids produce from it reeks.

My son's pedi had us switch him to alimentum for his eczema... I know, not answering your question because it's a different issue. Just wanted to let you know that DS hates the taste of it. While it did help his eczema, we ended up switching back to a different formula because we could only get him to eat about 10-15oz a day after a few weeks being on the formula and he started losing weight... and DS is already small for his age. Hopefully your LO will do better on it!

It is seriously one of the worst smelling things on the planet. And it makes his poop smell even worse.
But on that note, it's done wonders for his reflux! We tried switching to Similac Sensitive about a month ago and it was TERRIBLE! He became extremely fussy, gassy, worse reflux. So we switched back to Alimentum immediately. I'll pay the ridiculous amount of money to keep my kiddo happy!
