What are your pet peeves?

Re: What are your pet peeves?

  • I have 3 to share today...

1 - When a woman sits right next to a man in a truck even though there isn't anyone in the passenger's seat.

2 - The Artimis billboards that say Drive Safe - Watch For Motorcycles.  You should also watch for other cars, people stopped on the side of the road, etc.  Yes, people in cars can drive like idiots but what about the motorcycle drivers that drive down the dotted line between cars and weave in and out of traffic!?

3 - Hanging file folder tab inserts that have that little tiny "lip" that has to be folded under.  If you fold it under before you write on the tab your writing is messy.  If you fold it down after you've written on the tab then the ink smears.  I don't know why the lip is even necessary.

Silly?  Yes.  Petty?  Yes.  But I guess that's why they are pet peeves Wink

    Happy Friday!

  • I have lots haha...people chewing with their mouths open and eating loudly....O and the sound of ppl clipping their nails!!

  • When ppl lie, especially over stupid things.

When my husband chews like a cow.... Errr... anyone really but mostly him. The funny irony in this is that I am not the quiestest chewer myself (I chew ice).

When ppl slam on their brakes even though they are going the speed limit bc they see a cop.

  • I can NOT & I mean it will drive me INSANE people that pop their gum. I literally will go up to strangers & ask them to stop or spit it out.

I also can not stand when the toilet paper roll is under instead of over - MUST be over!! I change it in other peoples houses as well. I just can not let it go!

I'm the same way about the shower curtain being pulled closed.

I'm a freaking NEAT freak so I have lots of little pet peeves that a "normal" person could let go but I can not. I could go on and on about those things.

I can not stand people who do not pull up fully in drive-thru lanes - that makes my blood boil or they don't know what they want when they get there or keep adding on item after item, etc.

  • My biggest one is the sound of people eating...anything. Even if they arent loud but I can hear any of the chewing and swallowing it makes me ill. I'm so neurotic that I cant even listen to the sound of MYSELF chewing and often have to turn on the radio or tv if I am by myself. Heaven help me if someone is eating a bowl of cereal near me-- its like pure torture.

That's not nuts.  I am the exact same way.  I have asked my husband over and over and over again to put the toys away with all their parts, puzzles with their pieces, etc. (he picks up toys after the boys go to bed).  It drives me freaking crazy to not have everything the next time somebody wants to play with it.

It also drives me crazy when the volume of the TV is freakishly loud.  Heck, it annoys me that the TV has to be on at all.  DH and Justin both feel like it has to be on all the time.  Sometimes I hate that box.

Bad spelling makes my skin crawl.  I guess maybe that's just intolerant, but hey, it's also a pet peeve of mine  :)

I'm sure that I have more, because after all, I'm perfect Wink

  • I pop my gum bubbles in public all the time.  I better just use breath mints for the next GTG.  Cool

I cannot stand loud TV watching either.  I swear my parents watch TV one decibel (or whatever it's called) louder everytime we are over.  LOL.

I also cannot stand when people yell at their children in public.  Like yell and scream and embarass and threaten physical violence.  Or do absolutely nothing while they run around like wild animals.  There is a fine line between acting like a kid and acting like you escaped from the zoo.  :)

And... leaving the letter G off the end of a word.  It happens most often with "ing" words.  This is frequent thing on FB and I cannot freaking (or freakin) stand reading (or readin) posts like this!  It's hard on my brain!

  • This may sound petty, but I cannot stand when people don't use the proper form of your, you're, they're, their, there. It drives me crazy, especially in FB status updates!

  • The word 'just' used in a belittling way. I know people don't usually seem to know they're doing it, but it really makes me want to put my hand on my hip and say 'what do you mean 'just''?

There is a person around me making calls to verify contact information and keeps saying things like "Is she a partner there or JUST a lawyer?". If I were her boss, this would have been corrected promptly.

  • Mouth noises--for sure!! Ugh. DH has to be the loudest eater ever--even with his mouth closed--and it makes me want to throw things at him when I can hear him.

I also cannot stand when people crack their knuckles. It's like nails on a chalkboard for me!

Oh, and one last weird one: the closet door in our bedroom MUST be closed before I go to bed. I guess I have lingering fears of the boogie monster coming out to get me in my sleep! Tongue Tied

Yes, this! I can't stand when people use apostrophe "s" to denote plural. It's a freaking epidemic!
