Crib

Please recommend your crib. I'm trying not to spend a lot on it but want something safe, durable, etc. I think it was the Graco Sarah crib that was recommended last time I posted? Does anyone have this crib and recommends it?

My sister has a very expensive, nice crib that she can give us but she lives 3 hours away so my husband would have to drive up and back on weekend to get it - and she doesn't have the instructions. I'm not sure that it's worth it...

TIA!!!!!

Re: Crib

  • We bought the Graco Lauren.  I'm sure the Sarah would be similar quality.  We are very happy with the Lauren so far, Graco cribs get great reviews in Baby Bargains, they're very affordable, and the Lauren was extremely easy for my H to put together.

  • We got the Ikea Gulliver in white for $80.  It is sturdy, and has great reviews in Baby Bargains.  I'm very happy with the purchase thus far.
  • Ikea Gulliver - the previous Baby Bargains (there is a new one that just came out) gave it very positive reviews.

    We love it.

  • I turned down a very expensive crib from my BFF - it was drop sides and I just couldn't get past it not meeting current standards.

Instead I chose the Baby Mod Modena in Navy from Walmart.  I am not a Walmart fan but this got great reviews and had clean, modern lines for under $300.  Here's a link to it in White:  https://www.walmart.com/ip/Baby-Mod-Modena-2-in-1-Crib-White/15529737

  • We went all out for DS's nursery furniture and got the entire Tori collection by Savanna from JCP. The crib is solid hardwood and sturdy as they come, but the finish scratches really easily.

For this LO, we're likely getting the Graco Lauren. It gets nothing but rave reviews, and we didn't feel the need to spend a small fortune the second time around (poor kid is already getting cheated!)

  • Where did you get your Graco? Walmart seems to have great deals...

  • We got the Graco Lauren (ordered it from Amazon along with the matching changing table) and love it so far.  It looks great, very sturdy, and was really easy to put together (not to mention being pretty inexpensive compared to a lot of other cribs).  My husband put it together in about 45 minutes by himself with me watching and not helping (his choice, not mine!).  We don't have the baby yet, but I'd recommend it so far.
  • You may want to check your local baby specialty stores. My husband and I had picked out a cheaper model crib, but when we went to the store to look at it, it felt like it was going to fall apart in our hands. The baby specialty store we went to had AMAZING deals on floor models that were in almost 100% perfect condition. We bought the Forever Cocoon 7000 for $300, which retails for $550. We felt better actually being able to touch the crib and know that it would be sturdy and safe for our child.

Good luck in your search! It was a tough decision for us, but choose what you feel the most comfortable with.

  • We have the Baby Mod Cadence (Walmart) crib and love it.  It's the same as the Davinci Kalani (Target).

Easy to put together and very sturdy.
