So I was going to give M half a slice of whole wheat bread. I then noticed the bread we have in house is honey whole wheat. I'm not supposed to give honey to her for a while, right? Would this be ok, or should I not do it?
I thought honey was ok at a year? And our pedi told us if it was cooked into something, it didn't matter as much. My recall on these things is horrible though.
Ditto PP. Our pedi said a year, but having taken a food chem class I'm pretty confident* in saying that the baking process would kill any of the bad bacteria, meaning you'd be fine feeding this to a baby under a year. FWIW, I fed D honey whole wheat a couple months ago and only thought about this after she finished the slice - she was fine.
* Confident = 90.998 percent sure, so don't sue me or anything, mmkay?
