The nerve of some ppl VENT

OMG there is this one woman at my son's pre-k and THANK GOD her daughter is in 3s and my son is in 4s otherwise IDK what I'd do. But anyway I am a very religious person and am catholic. So when I was pregnant I was told DD might have Down Syndrome so I prayed to Saint Gianna (the patron saint of the unborn) to give me stregnth and help our family and I consistently prayed to her so I thought it was a good idea to name DD Gianna after her. Not that that is ANYONEs business why I chose a name.. She asked what DDs name was I said Gianna she said VERY RUDELY What are you Italian? I said no and I explained the story to her.. Now I am by far the youngest mom in his preschool so my age is already a touchy subject with me.. Then the rude B*tch says OMG how old are you? I said 24 she actually laughed in my face!! and said OMG i am 48 I could never imagine having kids that young!!! WHAT A B*TCH!!! I think that what ever age people want to have kids is their business nobody else's. UGH!!!

Re: The nerve of some ppl VENT

  • Oversensitive much? I can understand why things are touchy subjects for you, but people don't press buttons intentionally unless they know what the button is.

Breathe, calm down, and realize that while you are sensitive to other people's comments, reacting like this every time is going to give you an ulcer before you're 30.

  • What a twatwaffle. The best response to people who ask rude questions is a confused look + "Why do you ask?" Repeat as needed.
  • I like the story behind your name, it carries a lot of meaning for you :)

And yea, totally a b!tch! Some people have no filter.

I may get flamed, but I feel having a baby so much later in life (like the woman above) is selfish for the kids. People's bodies get older before their minds do, and I feel they won't be able to do some of the fun things of parenting, i.e sports and playing outside.

  • Yep rude. Some people just don't know when to shut their traps. FYI, Gianna is a beautiful name even if I didn't know what the meaning behind it was. :) Knowing myself, I probably would've responded with a comment like " I couldn't imagine having kids so late in life." But that's just me ;)

  • Indifferent Wow..

I LOVE your LO's name and meaning - very sweet and meaningful. - This woman sounds like a real b*tch.. So what if you are 24? And so what if she is 48? She didn't need to be so rude. I'm 40 and there was no way I was ready to settle down and/or have children  at 24, but I would never judge someone for doing so - it is a personal decision....

omg i totally agree. This woman was complaining on the spring field trip that the crayola factory was too much of a work out chasing her kid around...like wtf? she also told her 3 year old daughter god is watching her in a threatening tone. phhyysscchhooo lol
  • I would be POd for being judged like that. What business is it of her's how old you are?? FWIW my spouse was 23 when DD was born...

  • This really doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

**Sorry didn't see she laughed at your story, reading comprehension fail.

I'm 26 and still get some sh!t from people for being "young". Mind your own business people. It's awful when people don't take you seriously because of your age or religion ( I know alllllllll about that).
