FU to Arching Back - rolling over?

Am I the only one that always sees the "FU" as fvck you? hahaha

Anyway.  I posted the other day that I was worried that Jackson had reflux because of his screaming/arching, and yesterday it got so bad that I called the triage nurse.  She was actually more concerned that he might have an ear infection, so we went to the Dr. today.

He's fine.  No ear infection, no reason to believe it's reflux, nothing odd at all except that he's still congested from a cold he's had for 2 weeks.  DH and my own grandma think that he is trying to roll over and is frustrated so he screams.

I've never seen a baby roll over from back to tummy before, but I don't think that's how it's done... If your LO rolls over B2T do they arch??

I used to be a big deal.  Now I'm just old.

Re: FU to Arching Back - rolling over?

  • LOL-I'm always misreading the FU.

I'm glad J is ok.  G rolls from his back to tummy.  He doesn't arch, but I imagine all babies do it differently.  He doesn't roll from his tummy to his back regularly but when he's done it, it looks a little like he's arching.

  • Maybe I should video him.  He kinda does look like he's trying to roll over, but I think that's more a side effect of the arching.

  • I'm starting to think the same thing Halo.  I actually posted on this the other night, and still have to go read responses.  But now he seems fine...don't know what the heck he was doing!

  • Ari arches when he's mad or when he's playing and wants you to keep doing something. I've never seen him do it when he rolls.
  • I always think that about the FU!! Haha

I wouldn't worry - Charlie does the exact same thing to roll over. Its how he gets past his arm to roll from back to belly. Its hard work!

  • I write F/U so it's a little more distinguishable from a big ol' FU!

DS is doing the same arching & also has us confused as to whether it's b/c of reflux or  trying to roll over. He does it in the bassinet, in the swing & on the changing table. But you lay him on the bed or on the floor where he actually would have the space to roll, and he doesn't budge!! silly baby.
