I bought a bookbag type diaper bag at BRU and we love it. It is so easy because it goes on your back and I can carry both kids in my arms without a diaper bag being in the way.
I got the "preschool" back packs from pbk, they are big enough for a change of clothes, diapers, wipes and a sippy cup/bottle. Anyone who can walk carries their own bag
I plan to use the same PPB bag and just add another wet bag with NB cloth diapers and a change of baby clothes in it. It feels full now, but I'll just have to adjust.
I don't, and I didn't even when DS was a newborn. I don't need a lot of things for DD, just a diaper and some wipes usually. Then I had a change of clothes for DS, diapers for him and a new shirt for me (DS is BF and an extra shirt for me was necessary those early days when I was dealing with an oversupply and drenching myself).
I've never been one to pack a lot in a diaper bag so I didn't have issues with needing a gigant-o one.
#2 isn't here yet, but I think it probably just depends on how much "stuff" you carry. I tend to carry a ton of things with me, and use my diaper bag as my own purse. For those reasons, I'm making sure mine is plenty big!

This for me too! I prefer having a big bag and assuring myself I have plenty of room for everything.
Ha! No!!! At least I don't- I throw 3 diapers, a pack of wipes, and a nursing cover in my purse and go. (I have an almost 2 year old and an almost 1 year old). Diaper bags are a PITA.
We use cloth diapers and for a long day out of the house with both kids, YES it was a must for me to have a giant diaper bag. For short trips out of the house it isn't as big of a deal. I have one standard size bag and one giant bag. I pack the one I will need and the other stays home. We also have a small to mid-size diaper bag that goes with DS only if he is with DH or a grandparent.
