I need help with a blog logo

Maybe someone is bored and wants to help.  I bought a "custom logo" design from an online vendor that a friend used but I can't convey to her what I want.  I think, mostly, because I don't know what I want!

My blog link is below if you want to get a feel for what I am writing.  Its just a mommy blog.  

Does anyone have any suggestions or can you link to blog logos that you have seen and liked?  Thanks!

Here are some friend's blogs with cute logos:

B family (probably more suited toward a boy but Dad is a big NASCAR fan, which is where they got the blog name, which incorporates their oldest child's nickname, and blog logo)

K family (Nothing fancy but I like the font on this one)

The idea is that you'd have the background but use your own name (rather than cakelove), right? I like it.

Say, where do you go to get someone to design a blog logo? I want to resurrect my blog.

It wouldn't be exactly the same as the cakelove one, but similar, and yes, I would put my own blog name in there.

I got mine at Jumping Jax Designs.com.  I think she's here in Austin.  When I paid for it yesterday I entered halfsies and got half off the price.  I am not sure if the promotion is still going on.
