Smoothies

I'm lactose intolerant and want to start making smoothies. Anyone have any good recipes? I'd like some that are for fresh fruits and ones for frozen fruits too. Thanks

Re: Smoothies

  • Just use a non dairy milk like almond or rice.

  • Almond milk is great in smoothes or using a bit of juice for variety.

  • I recommend putting in spinach in your smoothie in addition to fruit.  It may sound strange, but you cannot really taste the spinach, but you get all of the benefits! It's a great source of iron and calcium.

     My suggestions:

    1 banana

1/2 cup of frozen blueberries (or other fruit)

     handful of spinach

1 cup of rice milk or almond milk (I like soy too)!

    * vanilla protein powder (if you want some extra protein)

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

  • I drink green smoothies almost every day. love them. I don't use any milk, just fruit and greens.

    This is my basic recipe:

    1 orange

    1 banana

1 c. frozen fruit mix (pineapple, peach, strawberries and mango)

3 or 4 large handfuls of baby spinach or other greens (romaine, kale, etc)

Blend the fresh fruit with a bit of water. Add the frozen fruit and blend. Add the greens and blend. Drink and enjoy!

If you have a high powered blender you could probably throw it all in at once. I, obvisouly, do not!
