Re: ~~~Weekly PG Check-In~~~
Question of the week: What is your favorite part of being pregnant? Your least favorite?
Favorite part of being pregnant..... having an excuse to go to bed early. Least favorite.... still waking up occasionally at night to go pee/ still getting m/s.
Updates: How is everything going? Please share any updates you might have, including a recent bump pic! Everything is going great. I have been doing a SPIN class at the gym 2 to 3 times a week, I can still fit into ONE pair of regular pants!!! DH has come to terms with his 3 daughter family and that has made a lot of difference in my mood and attitude! I am 1. awful at taking pictures and 2. not good at uploading pictures so there is no bump pic to share
(((HUGS))) for bride!
QOTW: The thing I am looking forward to the most again is getting to feel the baby move. I loved it! I don't like feeling sick all of the time. And, I am not looking forward to the weight gain (flame if you must).
Update: Still feeling nauseous pretty much all day long. And the sleepies hit really hard in the afternoon. I'm feeling way worse this pregnancy than I did with DD. Most foods don't sound good at all, except stuff I can't have like coffee, a sandwich from Jimmy John's and sushi. Otherwise, I'm trying to continue exercising every other day. That's about the only thing that makes me feel better right now. Hopefully the morning sickness will pass soon!
QOTW: hands down, my fav thing ever is getting to feel the baby move and dance around inside me. It's my favorite thing EVAH! My least favorite thing is the physical restrictions that are placed on me--I hate getting treated by others as if I can't do certain things . . . and I hate that sometimes, I really can't do certain things.
Update: DD officially moved into her big girl room on Sunday night and it's been a total success (read: total nonevent). I think it was harder on DH and me than it was on her (getting used to a new routine is hard!). So now Dos's nursery is freed up and I've kind of hit a wall. I need to do laundry, get the last bits of her girly decor out of there, etc., but I just don't have the time during the week. Hopefully I'll get a lot done this weekend. DH and I have been much better lately about practicing birth prep stuff. I have a shower with my friends this weekend and my first internal in 1.5 weeks!
Why yes, that IS a basketball (bowling ball, watermelon, etc.) under my shirt.
QOTW: For sure, my favorite part of being pregnant is feeling baby move around. Heck, this may end up being my favorite part of being a woman! It is so amazing, unlike anything I've ever experienced. ETA - I guess the worst part so far is not having as much energy as before. I used to be sort of a night owl and still get to work early. Yeah, not so much anymore.
Updates: We had our big u/s on Friday and it was so great to see baby again. I am not complaining by any means, but I still would not truly believe that I'm pg if it weren't for the movements I feel here and there. I can only fit in to one pair of non-maternity pants, but becoming too chunky for my clothes is sadly something I've done a few times before. My parents were in town this weekend so we did LOTS of shopping and got the crib up. I love it! I just realized this weekend that I will be 34 weeks when DH takes his annual trip to Big Bend. I'm trying not to freak out about that.
Love the bump pic, Rssn! :-)
QOTW: favorite part of being pregnant - being able to eat out and eat dessert all the time and not feel bad about it.
least favorite part of being pregnant - not getting to drink my nightly glass (or 2) of wine
Updates: We're finally 95% done with DD's new room, just need to hang a couple more things. And we're having a garage sale this weekend so we can clear out the new nursery. I'm still feeling really good, no complaints here. While i do like feeling the baby move, it's already getting to the point where it hurts. I don't remember dd moving this much or it her kicks and punches being so painful!
QOTW: favorite part of being pregnant - actually getting pregnant.
least favorite part of being pregnant - feeling these cramps. Are they normal? Everywhere I've read says they are and as long as there's no blood I'm fine-It just makes me worry!
Updates: No updates here! I'll hit 4 weeks tomorrow and I went in for my 2nd beta this morning. I think once I hear from the nurse sometime this afternoon my mind will be at ease.
QOTW: favorite part is feeling the baby move is hands down the winner. I can stare at my belly all day (um, and sometimes I do).
not-so-favorite part: lower back pain. I feel like I'm an 80 yr old with a bad hip! it's worse when I've been laying down (i.e. sleeping) and I need to get up to go to the bathroom - I basically hobble. but once I'm moving I feel fine. and I miss my glass of wine and decent-looking skin.
feeling pretty good overall so I'm grateful for that! we went to a childbirth class last weekend - I feel even less prepared now, if that's even possible.
The cramping is totally normal. You can take tylenol for the pain if it is too bad. If you have any concerns what soever about it not feeling right always call your DR.
YAY!!! And congrats again!
RNNS - LOVE the bump - holy watermelon woman
QOTW: Feeling the baby move is my favorite part. The rest sucks.
Update: Had my 16 wk appt last week and everything looks good. I had one pair of non-maternity pants I was still wearing (b/c they were too big when I wasn't pg) but I think I wore them for the last time yesterday. We go next week for our big ultrasound, can't wait!
QOTW: my favorite part is the unrestricted food access:) i don't limit myself when i'm pregnant and i don't really care about the weight gain...its the only time i'm supposed to see the scale go up and i'm going to enjoy it! my least favorite part so far has been the tiredness...i hate getting up 4 times a night to pee:(
the last week or so i've really started to feel better. my stomach is rarely upset, maybe only 1-2 times a week as compared to everyday, and i'm not so frackin' tired to that has been really nice...i think max is enjoying that as well:) we had our 12 week appt last week and got to hear the HB, NT results came back good and we scheduled our anatomy scan for may 19th...woot!!! i'm still flipping back and forth on whether i think boy or girl! i think i'm starting to show and can't really fit into any of my pregnancy pants unless they are super stretchy:) have not started belly pics yet.
It's a boy! EDD 9/2.
My favorite part is feeling the baby move! My least favorite is him deciding when I'm done eating. Even if it's 1/3 of a normal plate. But it's all good.
QOTW: my favorite part about being pregnant is the no-guilt factor in eating multiple desserts :-) I also love feeling her move around, although she is getting quite feisty and strong (could be the sugar from aforementioned desserts ;-)
my least favorite part is being so tired and my body not being able to keep up with me. it's definitely more challenging this pregnancy as I try to keep up with a toddler! I also miss drinking a glass of wine or having a nice frosty margarita when it's so nice outside.
Update: feeling good, but tired. According to my fundal height, I'm measuring 2 cm/2 weeks ahead of my gestational age (see above post). This makes me a little nervous since I don't know if that means I will have a larger baby, or if I will actually deliver early. yikes!
QOTW: Let's just go with the favorite part, because I've had a lot of least favorites and I'm tired of hearing myself whine. My favorite part of this pregnancy has been finally feeling the sense of accomplishment in the fact that I'm about to have a baby, that I submitted my dissertation draft, that I'm raising two amazing daughters without screwing them up too much, and that I got off my SSRI several weeks ago without any terrible emotional fall out.
Update: Now that my diss draft is in, and baby girl is due in 8.5 weeks, I'm starting to get really into preparing for her arrival. The urge to nest is here. My GD diagnosis last week has turned out to be a blessing, because I feel better with my GD diet. And my blood sugar levels have been awesome.
Rssn, I definitely see a watermelon!
QOTW: My favorite part has been feeling her move, which I just started to this week! It has been like little flutters here and there. Today I felt her actually kick! It felt like someone flicked me from the inside! DH wishes he could feel her, he's so sweet!
Update: Things are going well. I saw on my patient portal/online thing that my 24 hr urine collection came back 'normal' which is a relief but I have an appt with the OB on Monday to talk about it. We are going to start our registry today. And last night we picked our bedding and paint color!
