Which I think is just fine, and no more surgery (I think, but they are double checking with DrS to make sure). They want me to come in again next week for one more draw to make sure it's less than 5, but other than that I think I'm in the clear. Thanks for all your dust, thoughts, and prayers.
*If you've had a m/c and d&c, did your levels take this long to come down, too? By the nurses reactions it seems like it's taking longer than normal.
And can some one give me the code to put the link to DSs blog back in my siggie? TIA!
Re: WHEW! HCG is down to 36.
YAY! I'm so relieved for you.
Mine was at like 5 after the first draw both times. I don't know how long after the D&C it was because it was so long ago.
That's good, it's almost there.
Not really the same situation, but I was measuring 7w5d when they discovered my missed m/c at 8w2d and I took cytotec to move things along on 1/21. Had an appt w/ my doctor w/ an ultrasound on 1/30 that showed all was clear. My HCG didn't get below 5 until 2/14.
BFP 12.20.2010 :: missed m/c 1/2011 around 8 weeks

Stick, little one, stick! EDD October 15, 2012
Phew. I know that sigh of relief comes with a terrible pain and I'm so sorry but at least it looks like this is won't be any harder on you physically.
Preg. 1: took 3 weeks to go down
Preg. 2 (ectopic): Continuted to rise for several weeks, then plateaued, then went down. I can't remember exact time but it was well over a month. Six weeksish is my guess.
Preg. 3.: 4 weeks to go down
Hang in there, Love. Hugs!
this!
I'm glad your numbers are going down! With my first loss (which was ectopic, it took about 7 weeks for me to zero out, but with my second (m/c) it zeroed out pretty fast, I think within two weeks.
**hugs**
YAY!!
I didn't have my levels checked because I never had any complications following the D&C and I didn't really push for much testing, I just wanted it over with. I had all my testing done between Abby and Emily etc.
I'm glad your levels are going down.
Here's my link for my blog in my siggy

I'm glad to hear no more surgery and levels are normalizing. I think about you often and hugs!
I'm glad the number is moving in the right direction. I hope you are hanging in there and getting the support that you need from those around you.
I had a missed miscarriage discovered at 9 wks (baby had stopped growing about 5 days earlier). A D&C was done the next day, and my levels were never checked.
I go to the same doctor that you do, and, when I asked about checking levels, was told that it wasn't necessary. However, I had moderate bleeding for less than 24 hours after surgery and then light bleeding/spotting for 2 or 3 days. There were no suspected issues or problems.
I did test with a home pregnancy test twice after the D&C. The first one (a few days after) was positive, and the second one (7 to 10 days post D&C) was negative. I figured that once the test went negative, my HCG level had to be very low (under 25 or so, depending on the sensitivity of the test).
