Need a new scooter for DS- PIP's

DS has gotten too big for his spiderman 3-wheel scooter, and I am debating on what type to get him next.  He is 4 and fairly coordinated. Any recommendations between these two?  I know people like the Razor, but have never seen the scootboard in person.

  • I like the razor and he'll still be using it 4 yrs from now.   I'm not sure he'd want to use the scootboard in 4 yrs.

  • That second scooter will tip forward easily, we have a Dora scooter similar to that.  And I think that the Razor is kind-of too old for a 4yo but if you think he can do it then get that.

  • What about something more like this?

For my 4yo, the Scootboard seems too young and I know the Razor is too old for him.  We have a bunch of neighbors in the 6-8 range and they have Razors.  DS1 has tried them several times and it's not pretty.

The Radio Flyer above has a wider wheel, so I think it would be easier for a kid your DS's age.

DS1 has a three-wheel scooter, but it's more "grown up" than some of them.

Ooohhh, I like this one. Some of his friends have Razor's, but my concern is that it is too much for him now, and the skateboard one just seemed like it might be crappy. Thanks!

  • my 4 year old got the razor for his birthday - he loves it. I think that the handles are adjustable so he can grow with it.  It took him a few tries to get it, but now he is fine.  He is fairly coordinated and athletic if that matters.
