Today I had my first opportunity to fill out "Occupation" on a form since I've been home. I wasn't sure what to list. I have a "career" that someday I'll go back to. For some reason, it bothered me to write down "stay at home mom" or "homemaker" , and also bothered me to write down what I used to do.
What do you say when people ask your occupation?

It's what I am and I'm proud of it! Why would it bother you?

No, I feel a little 1950s when I put it down on paperwork, but I also feel pretty lucky.
I think I'll steal this for any forms I fill out in the future.
Love it.

If you are just on maternity leave or are planning on returning to work soon you could always just put your previous job title on it.
I write "Mother."
We had to fill out paperwork when buying our car. I filled out my portion first and then handed it to my husband. Under the "income" part of my form, he wrote in "priceless" for me. I was touched.
I wrote domestic goddess once! I thought it was hilarious
But usually I write Stay-at-home-mom
