My twins are starting daycare next week, and I've been told that they will sleep better at home at night because they will be so stimulated and so tired from daycare activities. Did any of you find this to be true?
How well did your LOs nap at daycare?
TIA!
Re: Does daycare equal better sleep at night?
They nap decently at daycare (3x/week) and MIL's (2x/week). We started sending them at 4 mos, and by then, we already had them on a good schedule that both DCPs adopted. However, their night sleep fell to pieces around then. I'm not sure if it was the overstimulation at daycare, the 4-month wakeful, teething, or some combination, but their night sleep didn't get better until recently. They also started going to bed earlier. Before daycare, they went to sleep around 8pm. Now, we need to start bedtime at 6:15pm or they are a mess.
I expected disaster - but they still got two snoozes in (plus one or two in the car ride)... no impact to their sleep at night at all. The only "issue" I had was that DC let them nap whenever they wanted so on weekends they weren't on any sort of "schedule".
We are starting a new DC in 2 weeks. We'll see how that one works out.
