Did you cheat and look?

Okay so I love being in the know, and it's killing me not to look at my registry.  I know over the last few days (because my shower is this weekend that my sister is throwing me) she has been asking me "Have you looked at your registry", "No", "Okay then don't look".  I am dying to look and see if and what has been bought for us because the last time I looked about 2 weeks ago, there had been nothing at all, not one thing bought for us.

I so want to be patient but I'm dying to look and see what the status is!   So did any of you ladies cheat and look at yours?

Nonstop. DH told me to stop and I just couldn't. The only thing I wouldn't let myself do was look at the Thank You list on Amazon that tells you exactly who bought what.

There were still lots of surprises at my shower though I can't say I really regret it!

For me it's more that the people who aren't coming to my shower (also this weekend) who have given gifts - have all given things off my registry - all clothes.... So I like to know where I stand and how much out of pocket I'm going to need to budget for to get the necessities...

But yes, I check ALL the time and have been for like 2-3 weeks now.

I look several times a day. I should stop because it is not encouraging. My diaper bag and an umbrella stroller are the only things that have been purchased. I keep hoping to see the PacknPlay or carseat have been purchased.

I am not having a shower since this is my 2nd but with DD I checked all the time!!! I just couldn't help myself

It's bad. I couldn't stop! I did the same thing with my bridal registry. I had my shower a couple of weeks ago (April 2nd) and I'm still checking in the hopes that the people from work buy me gifts (we always have work showers for our co-workers so I know it's coming).

I wish I could tell you to stop looking but I'm guilty

It's so hard NOT to look! I check mine about once a week right now, but I imagine I'll be checking it a lot more often when my showers get closer. In my defense, it is a good way to plan ahead and see if there's going to be any pricey items left that DH and I will have to buy ourselves.

Oh yeah -- I look almost every day! I figure the stuff is really for the baby and not me anyway, so it doesn't count.

All of the time, it is like an addiction of mine!!  I still have a couple of weeks before my first shower so there hasn't been too much bought but I still look on a daily basis

Not only did I look, but I looked at the Amazon Thank You list, too.  I couldn't help myself.  And once I showed DH how to do it, he couldn't help himself either!

Yep I checked everyday. I had my first shower (one back home and one here in FL) this past weekend and everyone got us gift cards, so our registry was still full. I'm hoping the one here will wittle it down a bit (as horrible as that sounds).

This, but I am handing over my registry info to my friend who is throwing the shower so she can manage it. I just have to get through the next 5 days without looking....eeek! I have been really bad about it. I have had a few friends that have said "I purchased something that was on your registry, but not at a store you are registered at" I have a feeling that I may get some duplicates, but i will live. BBB has a really good return policy, so I am not too worried about it!

I am a little nuts. I have made a spreadsheet of everything on our registry and how much each item is. I have then gone through and determined at what point we will need each item (newborn-12 months). I have also determined which items are absolutely necessary vs ones that would be nice to have.(it would be nice to have 3 changing pad covers, but as long as we have 2 we will be good, etc) I have then automated the spreadsheet so I have totals for everything, everything that is a necessities, and then the effects of discounts, etc. After my shower on Saturday I will update it and go from there. It was really helpful for me to see the actual out of pocket expense we **may** have. I set it up so I can delete all the items we receive and then go from there in determining a plan to purchase the remaining items. Breaking it down monthly was extremely helpful too. We plan on CD after the newborn stage, so we will not incur those expenses until months 1-2. The highchair and jumperoo we will not need until about 4 months, and the umbrella stroller will not be necessary until about 6 months. We will not need the next level car seat until 9-12months, and some of the safety stuff will not be necessary until LO starts pulling up. Very few items have been purchased, but once I broke it down it really was not that bad!

 Same for me (less the Amazon comments as I'm not registered there). I was still very surprised with lots of the items. I have another shower in a couple weeks and will be stalking for it as well :-)

Yes.  I did the same thing with my wedding registry and DH hated it then too.  My shower isn't until April 30th so not a whole lot has been bought.  I can't help it.  It is way to easy to look.

I do, but I am registered for duplicate things at amazon and babies r us, so I am marking things as purchased in the other registry as needed.

I agree!  It made me feel so special that people actually took the time to buy off my registry!  I have my other shower this weekend and no new items have been purchased yet.....time will tell.  ::goes off to stalk!::

I look...even though I haven't sent out invites yet..lol however, people know where we are registered.

 But it will be torture to stalk the registry because my people (my circle) tend to buy little off the registry, or buy stuff and not get it removed from the list! Arrgghh!

 I will say, they did a pretty good job for my bridal shower and wedding..they made me proud. LOL

My reasoning for checking every day is because we have duplicates.  I have no reason for checking the Amazon thank you list other than I accidentally hit it on the first email that someone bought and I was excited so the next one I just had to know as well!!

Um, yes.  Before my shower, I checked both my registries daily for about 2 weeks.  I didn't know there were people out there that DIDN'T registry stalk.

I did, but not much was purchased of my registry. I had a registry at BRU, but it seems everyone preferred Target and just bought us random things from Target. So I would recommend a second Target registry if you don't already have one or you may end up with a bunch of things you don't really need..

I have not looked! I'm quite proud of myself I do have duplicates on my registries (BRU and Amazon), so I gave my password to my sister and she keeps everything updated and organized for me.

First shower is this weekend and I am so looking forward to the surprises!! My sis says I'm going to be quite pleased (YAY). 

I don't fault anyone for cheating though!! It's so tempting and so exciting
