Babies on the Brain

2 week long period, should I be concerned?

I have been bleeding for 2 weeks straight.  It started with very very light spotting in red/pink and then every single day it's gotten heavier and heavier until today when it has been the heaviest.  I also just had a 54 day cycle which is my longest cycle so far.

What do you think?

  • Your chart confused me but I would call the doctor.

  • Yeah I think I will tomorrow.
  • :( Yuck, I'm sorry Allie. ?I'm glad you're calling your doc. ?That's happened to me, but it was when I was younger and not TTC. ?The doc put me on BCP for it, but that's obviously not an option here.
  • Ugh that's what my girlfriend said sulfa, she works for an obgyn. She said "Would you kill someone if they tried to put you on birth control to regulate you?"

     I'm like uh YES.

  • Someone here (I think maybe it was MW) was talking about how their doc basically put them on all the different hormones necessary for a complete cycle. ?And that's the cycle she got her BFP. ?I'm wondering if that would be an option? ?I don't even know if that would help, or what it would be correcting. ?But in any case, there has to be something that can be done. ?I know it sucks and I'm sorry. :(
  • gah just the thought of birth control makes me want to throw a knife at a puppy.  I have always hated it and was so looking forward to never using it again lol
  • My mom used to have periods lasting two weeks because she had fibroids.  Her two options were BCP or a hysterectomy.  Being in her late 40s with three grown kids she chose the latter.  I'd definintely suggest calling the doctor.  Heavy bleeding like that can cause anemia.
