Of having your tonsils out as an adult.......
The ugly- It effing hurts. Now pain and I are old friends and that is probably part of the problem (high base level of pain meds to begin with) but holy crap the pain has me hovering right on a 9 level. I now understand why my BFF who had a 36 hour rough no pain meds labor said that having her tonsils out was worse than that.
The bad- Not being able read bedtime stories to your kids or even basically talk to them. I love those evening cuddles, especially now that Andrew is "reading" part of the books to me now.
The good- having Andrew sing to me, " yullaby, yullaby, close your eyes and be happy, yullaby, yullaby, sleep, sleep, sleep my mama, yullaby, yullaby, now you are so happy." ::::melt:::: The cutest part is I sung Twinkle Twinkle when he was really little and then a little made up song, "Mama loves you verse then Daddy and so on threw brother, grandma and grandpa, but nothing really like what he is making up.

So sweet...I hope you start feeling better real soon.
On a side note, Jackpot has to have her tonsils taken out and this is the second time I've heard how painful it really is. Now, I'm second guessing myself on having it done.....
Sorry, I hope you heal quick. : (
It is cute that your kiddos are taking care of mommy.
Are you drinking milkshakes at least?!?!?
Again, wish I was closer so I could help. You are a great mom and your boys know it, even if you can't talk to them right now. Big hug (and pass the milkshake, dammit!).
I hope you see this J, but everyone I know says it sucks as an Adult and is easy peasy for kiddo's. I guess we're just big ol babies. I'm sure it really had something to do with their alien quick healing power and I swear kids either have less pain receptors or the brain chemistry is different because think of all the stuff kiddos do to themselves over the years that makes us cringe and how rare is it that they really, really hurt over it?
I honestly have talked to a lot of people over the years as removing them has been an ongoing discussion since I was 12 ( last Aug or Sept, I caught a strep infection that they couldn't kill for anything so it was decided for me) and every.single.person that had them out as a child said it was no big deal and every.single.person that had them out as an adult said it was horrible.
I wish you were closer too! Maybe someday because DH and I debate moving to the Sac area, but with this housing market it may never happen. But I could use a big ol dose of you and Sol right now, although laughing is seriously painful so maybe not. No milkshakes but it's a damn good thing we have an extra full size freezer because I think DH picked up roughly 8 tubs of ice cream, box of ice cream sandwiches, 4 kind of popsicles and safeway was having a sale on individual ice cream servings so we have like 30 of those ($ .50 and awesome for the kiddos BTW).
See you just need to move to Chico so we can eat ice cream and have rockin play dates. Plus DH and I are so seriously musically inept our kids could use a positive influence around.
Ugh, that sounds awful. But at least it doesn't hurt to type so you can still talk to all of us, right? And at least it's out of the way now and you'll never have to do it again.
Your boys sound so super sweet. I hope your recovery gets easier and easier (and quickly!).
This makes me feel better as far as Jack goes ... but it terrifies me even more for MYSELF! LOL!!! Our family doc has also reco'd that I get my own tonsils out (before I develop sleep apnea or something...though the hubs swears that I already have the condition).
Again, I hope you start feeling better real soon...
Icky. I am so sorry!
The good....SO cute. That is such a sweet and tender little guy you have. Love that.
