Hey there, ladies! Just need some encouraging stories from women who were "overdue" and still got their VBAC. Any details you want to share are greatly appreciated!
I was induced at 41 weeks because the hospital wouldn't let me go past that. DD arrived in the wee hours the next morning. So she was born vaginally at 41 weeks 1 day:-)
I only had an idea of when my due date was! I did know my "due week" was Sept 24-Oct 1, and had an early dating u/s that put it at Oct. 6. My MW moved my official date to Oct. 6 when I was approaching 40 weeks (the dating u/s had been with a different medical group, so she had to manually change it).
Anyhoo, I agreed to non-stress tests, but refused u/s for AFI if the nst was ok. And I was prepared to not show up for a scheduled induction/RCS, or have my DH talk to my MW for me if I had gone any later. I went into labor and had my baby Oct. 15 (had my first nst on the 14th). Hang in there, and good luck.
I had my first VBAC 10 days overdue, she was 8.6 and it went really well... the only problem I had was that she was posterior, which obviously had nothing to do with being late.

Thanks for your insights. This is basically my exact situation. We're just not sure about my actual "due date" and my doc placed it via u/s at April 6th (originally April 4th, actually and he just changed it). I am, by the April 6th EDD, 41 weeks today and he's letting me go until next Tuesday before he makes me have a c-section. I think my actual due date may be this Friday April 15th, based on just trying to remember when we COULD have conceived! Thanks for your help and congrats on your successful VBAC and babies!
If you happen to jump back on this post, I'd love to hear more about your experience with Castor Oil. I've not done that yet (done everything else!) and have held back there because I've heard of lots of people having pretty yuck experiences with it. How much did you take? When? What happened? THANK YOU!!!
Everyone - thank you SO much for each and every reply! This really is very encouraging . . . you can start to feel like the only VBAC'er in the world that's gone past your due date. "Your doctor's letting you do THAT?!?!?!?!" I'm sure you remember.
Please pray for me, if you're the praying type! I'm 41 weeks today, 1.5cm dialated, 50% effaced and really praying for a VBAC! Thanks!!
