What brand of whole milk does your LO drink?

Our pedi gave us the go ahead to switch DS to whole milk. I am looking for an organic brand. All Kroger had was Horizon, which I bought, but would prefer to buy another brand. I used to drink an organic brand and for the life of me cannot remember the name.

Re: What brand of whole milk does your LO drink?

  • Organic Valley is one of the highest rated organic milks, but it is pricey. Kroger probably doesn't carry it. They do carry a store brand organic though, and they  have one with DHA. It's in the case with the regular milk, not by the other organic stuff.

When I can, I buy Central Market's. I like that it's fairly local, and it's usually cheapest.

Kroger on 11th does carry organic valley.

I buy OV but I also buy the Horizon whole milk with added DhA.

Yes, Organic Valley is the brand! I recognize the carton. For some reason I was thinking it was Springfield Farms or something like that. I might try Central markets too. thanks.

  • Here is a scoring card put out a short while ago for organic milk and quality standards. I can't help you with personal recs, though, sorry... we drink Almond Milk.
  • I think I usually get what is on sale.   When I shopped at Kroger's (switching now because of their coupon policy change), I usually bought their organic Private Selection brand.

Crap! I Didn't know anything about the score card. hmmm.. guess I'll have to seen what all the stores around here carry. I'm surprised DH didn't know about it. he's always researching stuff. guess he didn't think of it.

This is what I was planning to do too when DD turns 1 year old.  It never occured to me to go exclusively organic...

    I've never seen this before!

We were getting CM Organic or WF 365 but now get milk from Georgia's that comes from a local-ish dairy, it's low-temp pasteurized and non-homogenized.
