Shoulder pain

I didn't realize shoulder pain would be such a big deal when I called my OB. I called to ask if I could use an icyhot patch (since the label said to ask a health care professional if pregnant or breastfeeding) and the nurse is asking me all these questions about how I did it and when the pain started. I'm like I was just looking for a yes or no answer. Now I have to wait until she talks to the PA to hear back from her. I have a feeling the answer is no on the icyhot patch.

Is it shoulder or upper arm pain? Is it one or both shoulders?

It is more shoulder/neck pain. It feels like I pinched a nerve or something.

When they called me back she asked if I had any chest pains or shortness of breath. I said no and she told me to try ice or that I could try the icyhot patch.

I just didn't realize shoulder/neck pain could cause such a concern.

Hm, I'm glad you posted this. I have had shoulder pain that I thought was from sleeping on it wrong, but will not go away no matter how I sleep. I would never have thought to bring it up to my MW, but I think I'll mention it now!

I really didn't expect it to be a big deal at all, I was taken aback when she kind of freaked out about it.

I used some BioFreeze and it has helped for the time being.

I ask because I have upper arm pain and am pretty sure it's pregnancy related carpal tunnel. My hands, wrists and fingers hurt as well and CT is nerve related whether it is pregnancy related or not. So not sure if that is something you looked into.
