Okay, this isn't my first rodeo, lol, I have a two-year-old. But with our 4-month-old daughter, I'm always a little more nervous about things because she has Down syndrome. Anyway, she's been walking up at 4:30 for the past week just starving. (Drinking 8-10 oz. when she normally drinks 6.) I've been wanting to start her on cereal but was nervous if her tummy could handle it. I figured since she's waking up so hungry, she needs a little something more.
So I gave her some cereal yesterday morning and she loved it. After her breakfast, she took a 2 1/2 hour nap! She did fine the rest of the day, but I was nervous about giving her cereal at dinner in case it gave her a tummy ache through the night. Well, she woke up at 4:00 this morning and ate 10 oz. So my question is, should I be giving her more cereal throughout the day? At dinnertime? Thank you!
Re: Help a nervous mom!
I'd check with your pedi but I'll tell you for us, ours had us start rice cereal after her 4 mo visit. She doubled her birth weight and was starting to wake up more and more (and chugging a bottle each time) so the doctors thought she needed more. She's done soooo much better since starting cereal. I know some people think it doesn't make a difference but for us it has.
If LO is sleeping it doesn't sound like it's bothering her.
