We are still considering using a formal name, with the NN Annie, which would obviously change the options for a MN. But we really just don't like any of the formal names for Annie!
So, if you HAD to pick a MN for "just" Annie, what would you suggest? Annie is honoring my grandmother, so it can really be anything.
Any votes for the "Annie can stand alone" debate?
Re: MN for Annie
Maybe Charlotte. Nothing cutesy! Something solid and classic to balance the "cutesyness" of Annie.
Annie Charlotte, Annie Eleanor, Annie Catherine, Annie Jacqueline, etc.

I love the nn Annie, but I prefer it as a nn. I love Anne & Anna though.
I really like the suggestion of Katherine or Faith for middles.
