Tonight is DD's first night in her new "big girl room." (pause for my emotional sniffling.) In her nursery, we were still using the changing table, but we don't have one of those in her new room. So, if you no longer use a changing table/pad, where do you do diaper changes? Where do you put on their pjs, etc.?
Dear Bump: You suck.
Re: If you no longer use a changing pad...
We never had a changing table for my little sister, so we just changed her on the floor, on a towel or changing pad. My mom said she did the same for me, but I think that has more to do with her dropping my older sister and accidentally banging her head on the changing table as she caught her. She never used one after that.
My point is that the floor is perfectly fine.

I would still usually just take the older one next door to the younger one's room and change the diaper on the changing table. I *hated* changing anywhere else - hurt my back!
Putting on clothes just happened on the bed/floor from then on though.

We still have a pack and play set up in our bedroom that we do diaper changes in. We also have a changing table downstairs. We put jammies on downstairs (we have a jammie drawer right next to the changing table).

In the past, I never used a changing table/pad. I always used the bed or floor.
BUT, it killed my back. If you have any back issues, you might consider spending the money on another changing table for your DD's new room (I think Ikea has sturdy ones for $30).
Congrats on her transitition, bittersweet though it may be!
On the floor.
All her clothes live in her dresser or the closet.
Ditto, except change her to his.
How did her first night in her big girl room go??!
