Overnight CD??

I need a new overnight CD solution! R peed through his pocket dipe last night and soaked everything. Everything, I tell you!
I ordered 6 microfiber inserts, but I was curious about what everyone else does to contain that elusive pee! Thank you GREATLY.

Re: Overnight CD??

  • I use a pocket also and stuff it with a microfiber insert and a hemp insert. The hemp is amazing, she can be completely soaked and still won't leak.

  • We were doing the indian prefolds with a hemp insert outside of the prefold (I guess it irritates the skin so they recommended outside of the diaper). Since we've started sleep training, we haven't been changing his diaper as much during the evening hours. What I've found is the cloth option we've been using does not last for 12 hours...but can make it about 8 hours. For now, I've given up and have been using overnight disposables until we figure out a better solution. Interested to hear of what others say.

  • DD does well with a BG double-stuffed with microfiber. We have also had good luck with Kawaii Good Night Heavy Wetter. We usually stuff it with one insert and a doubler.

  • We use RaRs stuffed with hemp and a single thin microfiber insert, and rarely have problems.  We have had some problems in the past when he eats a lot at night, but it hasn't been too bad recently.  I'm still thinking of trying some fitteds with some extra hemp stuffed in since DS is such a heavy wetter.

  • I'm still kind of trying to figure out the best overnight diaper for us, but so far it's a flip organic insert with a flip cover.  That gets us through about 9-10 hours.  I'm looking into trying some fitteds.  Or I might try the prefold with a hemp insert like pp mentioned.  I hate having to stuff pockets with multiple inserts at night, they're already so bulky and multiple inserts just looks ridiculous to me.  I know no one sees it but I do and it looks uncomfortable for LO.

  • One day I found her all soaked too! Lately though we havent had any leaks. We use either a BG stuffed with one AFFF and a mf doubler. Last night I put on a GM fitted with a wool cover and that was Great!
  • We stuff a Happy Heiny's pocket with 2 microfiber inserts and a hemp doubler.  It lasts 10 - 12 hours.  I've been toying with the idea of putting a wool soaker over the diaper to catch the occasional leak.

  • When we were CDing we used a Kawaii overnight with both the microfiber inserts and a hemp insert between them. He never leaked at night.

GL. I hope you find something that works!

This, and Hadley sleeps for 12 hours.
  • Fitteds. Add a wool cover.

Pockets don't cut it for us. Even stuffed with hemp they don't absorb enough. And if I do stuff them to absorb enough, there are leg gaps that he pees out of.

I am in love with Sbish (sustainablebabyish) fitteds for overnight. Many people like their snapless version but we use the sized snapped one so far. DH forgot to use wool over it a couple nights and just put a Thirsties cover. And it worked! (A wool cover is extra insurance against leaks.)

I'll probably get some Sbish snapless to try as well. I've also heard good things about B4s.

ETA: We tried Kawaii, Bum Genius, and Rumparooz pockets with 2 hemp and 1 microfiber. Every single one leaked (either due to not being absorbent enough or leg gaps).

  • We use either a BG 4.0 or a Thirsties duo. We stuff it with one MF and one AFFF insert.

  • Prefold with MF insert folded into it + piece of fleece for that "stay dry" feeling all under a wool cover.  Joy sleeps for 12 hours and absolutely no leaks.

She leaked out of the legs of her Kawaii, although they weren't the heavy duty overnight ones.

however long the night, dawn will break.

  • I love fitteds with wool for night. We can still do a pocket diaper with hemp and microfiber as well. I just prefer the fitted with wool because I have never had a leak.

I have a goodmama good night on the way. I have heard they're great for heavy wetter at night. Right now I love monky snuggles over night fitteds and Orange Diaper Co fitteds : )

We use our BG 3.0s doublestuffed with microfiber inserts and we've never once had a leak. I hope you find something that works!

  • My go to overnight diaper is the Bum Genius organic/elemental.  My back up is a kawaii overnight heavy wetter with a microfiber insert and a hemp insert.  I put the MF closest to her.

  • I use Monkeysnuggles overnight with a Blueberry cover.  Works well most of the time, unless we have a little "user error" (forget to tuck all the way in the cover).
