Cribs in Houston

Where are some places that have a good selection of cribs?

I've done Pottery Barn Kids, Babies R Us (Katy Location), and Baby's 1st (sugar land location).

I have looked at so many things online, but I'd really like to try and get in some stores to scope things out.

If it helps... I'm really looking for a white crib (I don't care if it's convertible or not). And I'd like it to have solid sides (or ends... whatever it's called).

Re: Cribs in Houston

  • We are just doing the same :) We went to PBK and Baby's 1st (Galleria area) yesterday. USA baby is another one we will check out soon. You could also try ikea. Depends how much you want to pay and what quality you want!

I loved some of the more modern looking cribs at Baby's 1st.... expensive though, but some were amazing quality. I havent looked at the brochures we picked up yet to see what all the options are. I cant say I saw any with solid sides though....

  • Baby's 1st on 45 is huge and has a fantastic selection. We bought ours there.

USA Baby also has a good selection. The 1960 store is also pretty darn big.

Also, check out the clearance section on USA Baby online.

If you want the solid sides, you probably want a more traditional crib. I've seen some... I also think if you find one that converts to a twin bed they'll often have solid sides.

  • Look at Baby Depot/Burlington.

We ended up with ours from JCP online and love it but there are none in store.

  • Resteration hardware baby has some beautiful white cribs, the only problem is you can only order online. G/L

  • One thing to remember about solid sides is to place the crib in the room so the solid side isn't facing the door.  If you ever want to stealthily peek into the room and check on him, you won't be able to see him without going all the way into the room.  When they're a bit older and they get to a point where they don't want to go to sleep, the last thing you want to do is go all the way into the room to check on them!

Of course the point is moot if you have a video monitor though.

    Ditto.

They are great quality.  The one we ended up with was under $250 and was one of the highest ranked on Consumer Reports.

  • We got the Munire Morgan Safeside from the Baby's 1st in Sugar Land. Ours is espresso, but they have it in white, and it has solid ends. We are VERY pleased with this crib. It is very well made, solid, sturdy, etc. And it is less than $300. GL!

Also, we could not have been happier with Baby's 1st. Great customer service!

  • We found ours at JCP online, we researched and found that Target actually happened to carry the same crib so we ended up buying it from there because they had it at the store.
  • Scroll down to the white one here... https://munnfunn.blogspot.com/2011/01/we-have-crib.html  You will like it if you're having a girl. = )  They have it at Baby's First and some places cheaper online (froogle.com)

We saw this crib this weekend. I really like it. I'm just worried if I get it in white would it be to "girly". We are trying to make it gender neutral. But I just love white furniture so much.

  • Nah, you can butch up white easily.  Just look through the Pottery Barn Kids catalogue.  They have plenty of boys rooms with white furniture.

  • Get the white, you can always antique and paint it baby blue later.  Check out the light blue Ma Marie by Stanley furniture, it's GORGEOUS.
