PBK glider - fabric protection

My PBK glider is going to arrive this week! I was totally impractical and ordered the cover in white. Embarrassed It is going to look great in the nusery but now I'm thinking about how to best protect the fabric from stains, etc. The cover can be dry cleaned but should I put some sort of sealer on it prior to use?

    My slipcover is cotton, so I haven't done anything with it because I assumed it would be easy to clean.  So far, I've just spot cleaned here and there with soap & water.  But now you have me wondering.  I guess it could be scotch-guarded, but I always worry about that staining the fabric.
