I only went off them because one of the side effects for me was extreme drowsiness. I was on 20mg of Lexapro/day and it wiped me out. I went back to work at 4 months pp and couldn't function on the amount of sleep I was getting, so I weaned off it at that time. I would have stayed on it otherwise.

Was on them (Effexor) for PMDD before pregnancy, went off prior to TTC and throughout pregnancy, went back on (different med-Zoloft) for PPD/reoccurrance of PMDD at 4 months PP and on for the time being.
I voted Special Snowflake. I actually started a prescription late in 3rd tri, because I knew that I was going to have issues thanks to OCD. I stayed on them until I made the transition back to work. There's nothing wrong with using them longer, if you need the support, but I'm also of the camp that they should be used in conjunction with therapy, not as a replacement.

Was on Lexapro for just over 18 months.
